Yeah, installing a more robust spambot filter here would be useful. I see that a variety of filters/captcha devices are available for vBulletin. If you do a captcha system it would be nice if only new posters were required to use it.

I like filter systems that do that.

Sweepstakes format
I'm pretty lackluster about the new sweepstakes format, wherein the first however-many responders are the winners. It's very dispiriting for those of us who are busy working during the day and miss the original post by hours.
I understand the advantages of having it be by email rather than post-comment (usable information vs. 500 'me please!'es...) but perhaps it could go back to being randomly chosen from whoever emails within a certain timeframe? I feel this would be more fair...

Magneticcrow, it's not the new format forevernever. It's just a temporary change of pace to add a little more variety to the giveaways.
-
Another way to add variety (and increase your exposure on FB) would be to use your Facebook page for some giveaways. You'll get more people "liking" the page simply to enter the giveaway, and that will increase the exposure you have on FB.

Not really a site suggestion, but a marketing and promotional suggestion for A Memory of Light. How about t-shirts with a chapter icon on the front, and the release date on the back? I personally want one with Mat's dice
No, really, I'm serious about this! I want that shirt!
-
This may be the first time I've ever had to say something like this: for reasons that are entirely personal, I can't comment on that proposal.
-
That's... um... cryptic... lol. Are you referring to the t-shirt suggestion? Or the FB promotional?
-
I mean the t-shirt. Take another look at the names of the artists who did the chapter ornaments.

Cool! I never noticed that before! What relation is Michael, if you don't mind my asking? Brother, son, father?
